I’m a grassroots organizer turned technology entrepreneur and web professional living in Washington, DC.
My Biography
I currently serve as Creative Director at Engage, a leading digital strategy firm that has worked for some of the nation’s most recognizable political leaders and corporate brands. In my role, I guide strategy and manage the project teams for client projects and products, including Multiply and iContribute, one of the leading donation management systems on my side of the aisle..
Prior to Engage, I had the honor of being the Web Director for the Republican Governors Association. In 2010, my team created 38 websites in 22 states in a 5 month period. In addition, I was responsible for building the RGA’s interactive election night results map with the Associated Press API… in 5 days.
I was recruited to join the RGA after running my own web firm, Ethos Digital, for 6 years. Ethos Digital focused on web application and ROI-focused web development. During my time running Ethos, I led a team of 15 tasked with building Advokit, an online advocacy toolkit.
In my spare time, Rapprich started WPDC, the WordPress meetup for the DC-area, and the group that became GTD DC, the “Getting Things Done” meetup for the DC-area, based on David Allen’s best-selling work-life management system. Both meetups are one of the largest of their kind nationwide and have truly outstanding members. While my career development & married life has kept me from regularly participating with these groups recently, I’m excited to re-engage with both over the coming months. Through the WordPress community, I released two public WordPress plugins — CM Newsletter and WikiPress — which yielded roughly 7,000 installations (one of the luxuries of freelancing). With GTD, I personally trained (unofficially of course
) over 50 people in the system and required its use by my subcontractors.
I also have experience working on multiple congressional campaigns and as a field director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. As an undergraduate at Connecticut College, I was Class President and founder of my College Republicans chapter. I also served as Executive Director and two terms as Chairman of the Connecticut State Chapter of the College Republicans (the CUCR) where I like to toot my own horn for increasing membership from 320 to 2600, registering over 1,000 new voters (in a district where the Congressman won by less votes) and raising more than $30,000. I am a recipient of the Ronald Reagan Future Leaders Scholarship from the Philips Foundation.
I was trained in classical piano from age three, which resulted in a music scholarship to college and once held a benefit concert that raised $17,000 for autism and won the Prudential Bank Spirit of Community Award in New Jersey.
Currently, I lives in Falls Church, VA with my wife Ashley, my dogs (Guinness & Thorman) & my horse Winnie (don’t ask). When I’m not in front of a computer, you can find me building things around the house, traveling, at the gym or making music.
